Yes — it's a fixed price based on your answers, with VAT and installation included. No hidden extras, no surprises on the day.
The deposit (50% of the total) secures your installation date and covers your unit, which we purchase and have delivered to you ahead of install day. The balance is due once the job is complete and you're happy.
The main ongoing cost is electricity to run the unit — air conditioning systems are highly efficient and typically cost £0.20–£0.40 per hour to run. We recommend an annual service, which we can quote separately.
Yes — at checkout you can spread the cost with Klarna's interest-free Pay in 3, splitting your total into 3 monthly payments (subject to status). You can also pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Revolut Pay. A 50% deposit secures your booking; the balance is due on completion.
A single-room install is typically done in one day. Multi-room systems take a little longer depending on the number of units and pipework routing. We'll confirm the expected duration with your booking.
Yes — we'll need to make a small hole (around 65mm) through an exterior wall to route the refrigerant pipes. We seal it neatly when we're done.
Usually not. Our systems are reverse-cycle heat pumps rather than cooling-only units, so most homes in England count as 'permitted development' and need no application — as long as the outdoor unit meets the standard size and siting limits, which we take care of. You're more likely to need permission for a listed building, a conservation area (especially on a road-facing wall) or some flats, and rented homes need the landlord's consent. If yours might be a special case, just ask and we'll advise before you book.
Yes, someone over 18 needs to be present for the full duration of the installation.
Just make sure the area around the indoor and outdoor unit locations is clear and accessible. We'll do the rest.
If you have an existing unit being replaced, yes — we'll remove and dispose of it responsibly. Just let us know in the notes when booking.
For a split system, yes — one outdoor unit is required. For multi-room systems, a single outdoor unit can power up to three indoor units. We'll always recommend the right setup for your home.
Yes. Every system we install is a reverse-cycle heat pump, so it heats in winter just as efficiently as it cools in summer — often cheaper to run than gas central heating.
Modern units are very quiet. Indoor units typically run at 19–25 dB (quieter than a whisper). Outdoor units are around 45–50 dB, similar to a quiet conversation.
Yes, we install in flats regularly. For rented properties you'll usually need written landlord permission. For listed buildings or conservation areas, you may need planning permission — we can advise.
Very. Most systems we install have a SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) of 3.5–5, meaning you get 3.5–5 units of heat or cooling for every unit of electricity used.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) air conditioning has been a first-choice brand for UK installers for decades. Their units consistently top reliability surveys, carry a 10-year manufacturer's parts warranty across the entire range, and are backed by a strong UK parts supply chain — so if anything ever needs attention, we can get it sorted fast. They're also independently certified to the highest energy efficiency standards, which is why we stake our reputation on them.
R32 has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675 — roughly one third of the R410A refrigerant it replaces (GWP 2,088). It's also more efficient to run, meaning smaller charges are needed for the same cooling output. The UK and EU are phasing out higher-GWP refrigerants across the industry, so R32 is now the standard for new residential installs. All our systems use R32.
Yes — all installations are carried out by F-Gas certified engineers, and our workmanship is fully insured. You'll receive a certificate after installation.
Every Mitsubishi Heavy Industries unit we install comes with a 10-year manufacturer's parts warranty — provided it's installed to MHI's guidelines (which our F-Gas certified engineers always follow) and serviced regularly to keep the cover valid. Our own workmanship is warranted for 12 months.
Yes — we recommend an annual service to keep your unit running efficiently. Contact us to arrange a service visit.
